First Hays girl's game of the shootout

The Hays High girl's basketball team plays their first game of the season tonight at Hays High at 7:30.

Hays High girls play Kearney, Nebraska tonight. It is the first game of the season for both teams.

There is electricity in the air as the lady Indians prepare for tip off and Paige Lungsford for Hays wins the tip.

At 6:30 left in the first quarter the score is still 0:0

Kearney scores first 2:0 Kearney.

Paige Lungsfurd scores first for the Indians on her free throws. 2:1 Kearney.

Katelyn Schumacher scores for the Indians. 3:2 Indians.

At the end of the 1st quarter the score is 3:2 Indians.

1:33 left in the quarter and both teams are in bonus.

Emily Braun scores for the Indians putting it 5:2 Indians.

Paige Lungsford scores for the Indians making it 8:2.

After a quality shot by Katelyn Schumacher and a Kearney free throw the score is 14:3.

With 2:00 left in the half the score is 16:5 Indians.

The first half ends with both teams in double bonus and the score at 21:7 Indians. Sydney Smeidler scores an excellent three.

The score at 6:00 is 23:9 Indians.

With 5:00 left in the 3rd the score is 27:11 Hays.


At 1:00 left in the 3rd quarter the
score is 28:15 Indians.

At the end of the 3rd the score is 30:15 Hays.


6:00 left in the game and the score is 30:17.

With 3:00 left the Indians lead 32:25.



The Indians move on to the winner's bracket of the tournament with a final score of 38:30 over Kearney.
